Lakeside 88 FM is designed to entertain and inform, as well as support the local Motuoapa community. Apart from the great music we will promote community development and inform the local community of events and news in the local area.
Lakeside 88 FM is an independently owned radio station that is not affilaited to any New Zealand radio network. Our funding is private and we rely 100% on donations, sponsor support and some local business advertising.
Lakeside 88 FM is soley run by volunteers. We are always looking for new radio talent so if you have a background in radio and would like to volunteer some of your time please get in touch. Lakeside 88 FM prides itself of having some of the worlds best international and local DJ Presenters. Here are our current entertainers.
Veteran radio presenter of over 30 years, Emma Scott presents The Pluggin’ Baby Radio Show. The 2-hour weekly programme features the most exciting independent talent from her own radio plugging business, Pluggin’ Baby, which she has been running since 2013. The show, which Emma presents from her own Cambridgeshire home studio. Listen out for her weekly show on Saturday nights at 8pm.
Paul has been working in the entertainment industry since 1991 when he was part of the charity station Radio Cracker. Since then Paul has been successfully working as a DJ, Radio Presenter and Event Host. Paul hosts two live shows every weekend on Lakeside. The first is 'At The Weekend - Chart Edition' on a Saturday morning and the second is 'At The Weekend - Gold Edition' on a Sunday morning.
Gary Mills is the frontman for popular UK band Vix 20. When Gary is not touring the UK playing in the band he hosts an alternative Indie music show called The Vix Essentials.
This one hour show can be heard on Fridays at 8pm alternating with DJ Pete who presents 'The World Of Classic Rock' and 'The Best Of Indie'. Go to our Facebook page for show times and dates.
